Fresh strawberries and a generous pour of double cream are the order of the day for this sweet, cool cologne.
We're still not convinced that anyone will be brave enough to actually wear New Balls (it smells just like the moment a new tube is opened; hard to describe, but definitely more than a little rubbery!) - but it will make a great gift for any hard core tennis enthusiast and adds an interesting dimension when layered with either - or both of the other two in the range. This ltd edition scent was actually developed following a request from one of our customers - Catherine, aged 14! You can read a guest blog post about why she decided to get in touch with us - written by the lovely Catherine herself - here!
And finally, here's some fun tennis ball facts taken from the official Wimbledon website:
- For the past 113 years, Slazenger has supplied Wimbledon with the crème de la crème of tennis balls. It is possibly the longest running commercial partnership in the sporting world
- White balls were initially used at Wimbledon as they were easy to spot on the court. However, with the introduction of colour television, white balls became harder to see. A new, high visibility ball - similar to what we see on court today - was introduced at Wimbledon in 1986
- Slazenger use a patented Hydroguard™ technology which claims to repel up to 70% more water than other tennis balls
- an average of 54,250 balls are used during Wimbledon. In order to become one of these Championship balls each one must be totally perfect; they must have a diameter of between 6.54 and 6.86cm and they must weigh exactly 57.7 grams
