We've had a full-on week on the web! Here's our round up of who's been saying what. Click through to any that you would like to read in full...!
The week's words kicks off with the La Vida Fresca blog, where make-up artist, Paula, sniffs our 'Vanilla Ice Cream' Cologne and concludes, "boy. does it smell gorgeous...". Alex at the Champagne and Lemonade blog also reviews our ever-so-fruity 'Sex on the Beach' Cologne and get's quite giddy at the prospect of being able to blend it with other scents from the brand to create her own, unique fragrance.
On Monday, Katrina at The Chatterfox blog wrote about her experience with our 'Stable' Cologne, and said something so lovely about The Library of Fragrance, that it bought little happy tears to our eyes: "I can imagine a wall full of these fragrances lined up on shelves telling the story of your life. It would be wonderful to pick up a fragrance and be transported back to happier times, to remember loved ones or to reconnect with the things that bring you joy. The term ‘Library of Fragrance’ is so very apt."
Meanwhile, over at the Ginger Girl Says blog, writes a brilliant introduction to our brand and also tries out the combination of our 'Peach' and 'Gin & Tonic' fragrances. We loved her description of this blend so much, that we're going to copy it all, right here:
"I have the Peach and the Gin & Tonic fragrances which are not only beautiful on their own but work so well together when layered together to create your own signature scent. What I love about the Peach cologne spray is that even though it’s sweet and smells exactly like you’ve bitten into a ripe furry skin peach on a summers day, it lacks the artificial syrupy scent which is commonly linked with peach fragrances. There’s a crispness to this scent: it’s sweet without smelling like a Barbie Doll perfume and offers a grown up version that doesn’t break the bank.
"As for Gin & Tonic, I’ve had friends break out in laughter when I’ve told them of my latest perfume love. “Gin & Tonic? Why do you want to smell like a drunk old lady?” Gin & Tonic surprisingly doesn’t smell like you’ve thrown a glass of G&T over yourself. It’s a crisp light fragrance which embodies the “smell taste” of a G&T with a hint of Juniper."
On Tuesday, Zoe at the Face Value blog wrote about us, describing each of our scents and also sharing how she likes to also wear them with other fragrances from her overall collection, "I also like using these as fragrance 'correctors'. Layering on Fresh Ginger adds a spicy, powerful edge to any overly sweet fragrances. Daisy is quite light and perfect for those who don't like overly floral scents as it has a green edge to it which makes it less cloying!" What a brilliant idea.
Wednesday brings us another review from the lovely Samantha Scriven at I Scent You a Day. This time, Samantha puts our 'Fireplace' to the test. The verdict? Samantha writes, "Now that we’re properly cold and wearing woollies it’s time to bring the rabbit out of the hat. If there is a cosier, warmer smelling scent than Library of Fragrance Fireplace I have yet to come across it. Fireplace is a delightful wintry fragrance that is equally good on women or men. In fact, this would smell amazing on a man wearing a warm jumper as if to say “I am all capable and manly and have big strong arms”.
Finally, Friday rounds off our busy week as Terri at the Hello Terri Lowe blog does a wonderful job of describing our 'Rain' Cologne, "It's not the weird pondy rain you can smell sometimes on those dark and drizzly days. It's more of a crisp, shower in the summer like scent. It kind of smells a bit like fresh plants. Not flowers. Plants. But the night kind. Like when you're walking through the fields and snap some thick stems of the various green foliage you find." Meanwhile on the Sophie Did What blog, Sophie has a sniff of our infamous 'Dirt' Cologne - and loves it, saying, "It smells like good Dirt, and it is something I want to wear." Hooray!
We've also made it on to quite a few of the annual, inspirational gifts guides that are circulating the online world! The Guardian's interactive gift guide 2014 highlights our 'Paperback' and 'Snow' Colognes. So Sensational recommend our 'Amber' and you can also check out the recommendations at Stylonylon, Ellis Tuesday and ShopStyle... and if you're still stuck for ideas, you can view our very own gift guide, featuring our top picks of our most giftable Colognes and a few other ideas that we, as perfume-lovers, are hoping to find under our tree, this year!
Check back next week for more news about our reviews!
