Vetiver has a rich and fragrant history. In India, the roots of this perennial grass have been used to make blinds, which are necessary to keep out the intense heat. When the blinds are sprinkled with water they emit the cooling vetiver scent. In Java, the root has been used for centuries to weave mats and thatch huts. And whether you believe in it or not, vetiver root is used in folk magic for its purported ability to provide safety and increase financial resources. A ritual designed to promote personal safety calls for the inhalation of vetiver, whilst visualizing one’s body being protected from negative energies!

Last but certainly not least, Vetiver is a staple in the armoury of any perfumer. Vetiver essential oil is distilled from the roots and not only smells distinctively amazing, but also acts as a fabulous ‘fixative’ in perfume blends, meaning that it helps the finished product to last longer on the skin.

Our Vetiver fragrance celebrates the roots of this revered plant, which smell warm, strong, earthy, woody and wonderfully grounding.

Confused about the difference between cologne and perfume, parfum, eau de parfum, eau de toilette and/or aftershave? These different names simply refer to the concentration of fragrance oil within the bottle. All our fragrances are colognes, which means that they contain between 2-8% of fragrance oil. All of our products are unisex; we don’t believe that fragrance has a gender.
