The Library of Fragrance Gardenia 30ml

The Library of Fragrance
Gardenia 30ml

£15.00 (P&P Royal Mail 1st Class from £2.81… more info)

Rather romantically, the Gardenia flower has for centuries, symbolised love, harmony and grace, while the Victorians' believed it stood for refinement and purity. Used in fragrance, however, we think that this lush, heady and strongly-scented flower becomes more than a little bit racy - and definitely incredibly sexy.

One of the most precious and expensive ingredients used in perfumery, it can take up to four thousand kilos of gardenia flowers to produce just a kilo of gardenia raw material, which can then be used within a fragrance. Growing naturally in China, India and the Far East, this blooming plant is a member of the coffee family and can scent a large amount of space with just one flower.

Our Gardenia cologne smells just like the scent of the living flower: creamy, rich and fabulously floral.

Did you know that The Library of Fragrance colognes can be layered to create scents that are unique to you? Mix and match any two, or more, to create combinations for every mood and occasion. Here are some suggestions to try with Gardenia:

  • To add a clean note, layer with Musk #7
  • To add a floral note, layer with Peony
  • To add a fresh note, layer with Rain
  • To add a fruity note, layer with Fig Leaf
  • To add a green note, layer with Wet Garden
  • To add a sweet note, layer with Play-Doh (yes, really!)
  • To add a woody / spicy note, layer with Mahogany

Confused about the difference between cologne and perfume, parfum, eau de parfum, eau de toilette and/or aftershave? These different names simply refer to the concentration of fragrance oil within the bottle. All our fragrances are colognes, which means that they contain between 2-8% of fragrance oil. All of our products are unisex; we don't believe that fragrance has a gender.
