There's been further chit-chat about our best-selling Baby Powder and Thunderstorm Colognes, on the web, following a recent giveaway of our #FragranceFoundationUK award nominees! You can read what some of the recipients thought of these fragrant beauties over at The Beauty Queen UK blog, the Cherries in the Snow blog, the Lolo Glitter blog, the Being Tilly's Mummy blog, the Beauty Spot blog, the Lucy Nannery blog and the What Laura Loves UK blog. A special note must go to the Seriously Shallow blog; we loved reading Sarah's descriptions of these two fragrances. Of Thunderstorm, Sarah writes, "This scent is utterly exhilarating. It takes you on your own private journey where the world is new and shiny and bright – there are ozonic, metallic, sparkling notes, a fresh meadow-sweetness and that electric, aldehydic charge. Its green and fresh without being cloying or at all earthy. There is a dry, mineral note to it. It smells a bit wild, natural, free and dangerous. It smells like new beginnings..." Cross your fingers and toes for us at the awards, on the 14th May!
Meanwhile, the Mab is Mab blog includes our wonderfully springy Cherry Blossom and Gin & Tonic Colognes in her weekly round-up, having discovered us in her local Boots, and the Chitra's Things blog describes Chitra's mission to revive memories of her trip to Malaysia by blending our Jasmine and Thunderstorm Colognes... click through to find out what she thought about the result!
If you've noticed a spring fragrance trend for all things blossom-related, you might like to read the following review by Hayley over at London Beauty Queen blog. Hayley compares three of our blossom-inspired Colognes, Apple Blossom, Cherry Blossom and Orange Blossom, to Jo Malone's just-launched Blue Skies and Blossom collection, concluding that, "A spritz of any of the scents adorns your body with an uplifting fragrance that's incredibly light, meaning you can both layer the individual fragrances or top up throughout the day. Although the packaging isn't quite Jo Malone standards, for a scent that's definitely seasonal it's much more justifiable to opt for the £15.00 option - leaving you £70.00 to buy at least two new pairs of shoes instead! I'm not normally a fan of floral notes, but I'd happily wear any one of these delicious scents as we step into warmer weather; I'm leaving behind my musty and heavy fragrances in favour of something lighter and more season appropriate."
Curious about our iconic Dirt Cologne? Then you might like to suss out the Eyeliner Flicks blog, where the author describes this most peculiar perfume, and suggests some brilliant layering combinations to try it with. Elsewhere on the web, Fashion for Lunch also makes some great layering recommendations (we are LOVING Bulgarian Rose with Whiskey Tobacco!) in her superbly quirky post about weird-but-wonderful beauty products!
Or maybe, you're curious to learn a little more about our behind-the-scenes story and how we came to launch The Library of Fragrance in the UK? If that's the case, head over to the We Make Websites blog, where you'll find an interview with our very own Clare Rees.
Finally, if you'd like to be in with a chance to win two of our Colognes, head over to the Dungarees & Donuts blog, where Olivia is hosting a giveaway!
Have a great week and check back next week for more news about our reviews!
